About this treasure
A modern revival of German made porcelain half doll pin cushions that were so popular in the 1920s. This elegant lady pin cushion was made in the 1990s by a company which is famous for reproducing Victorian inspired toys and ornaments. Instead of a porcelain half body, I believe this is made of resin. Nevertheless, this beautiful half doll is wearing a lace dress with sequins and crochet lace trimming embellishments. Her face is painted beautifully with a very soft and gentle expression that reminds me of a very amiable auntie.

Excellent vintage condition. I believe this trinket box was never put to real use. The former owner might have bought it as a collectible item. I had the feeling I was the first one to untie the ribbon so I can take photographs of the interior. This pin cushion is just stunning inside and out.
