There seems to be a revival of Victorian style in the 1950s, evidenced by many accessories and boudoir items manufactured during this period, including this beautiful antique inspired gold ormolu trinket box.
The painting features a Rococo style lady in her lavish and highly decorative hair. The box is believed to be made with brass. The body and lid are elaborately ornate in ribbon and floral motifs. It has a dark purple velvet lining.
This box is such a beauty to be displayed. But do her some justice and make good use of her. She might have been over 60 years of age, she's still sturdy and useful just like your grandma. Place her on your bedside table and hide those annoying and always-causing-tripping-over-accidents phone cables or earphones when they are not in use. Or place your rings inside if you are like me, always asking my husband where did he last see my things.

Good vintage condition. The box shows signs of wear. The metal has age marks. Please refer to the last photo. The box is a little dented but when it is covered with the lid, the imperfection does not show and it does not affect the usage of it. The bottom of the box suffers multiple scratches.
