We are celebrating Spring a little early!

Although Spring is some 2 months away, I have decided to celebrate it early by creating something gorgeous.

These beautiful embellished embroidery hoops are the inspirations of antique ribbonwork (particularly in the 1920s) I stumbled upon accidentally some time ago on the Internet. I have always wanted to try my hands on learning this age old technique but never really found the time to do so. Looking at the ribbon floral appliques I have hoarded all through the years, I have decided to try my best to mimic using premade floral appliques. These little darlings are all handmade (although not by me), they are dainty, delicate and come in unimaginable styles and colours. My modern update is the beaded monogram in the centre.
They will be the best gifts for yourself and your loved ones. Not only will they add a warm personal touch to your home, with a little ribbon, you can turn the embellished hoop into a ring holder! It seems that there is a trend lately that newly weds use two monogrammed ring cushions during the exchange of wedding rings. One trendy example I can think of is the wedding of Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney and his stunning lawyer wife Amal Alamuddin.
Below are some examples I have done using pink, blue and yellow. You will also find a picture of a piece of antique work.

Something blue for the nephew you love most or your soulmate

Pink will always steals the heart of anyone!

Make this the perfect ring holder for your friends and loved ones

Don't they just make your heart flutter?

Take care and stay warm until the next I write!
